rspur.gifWeekly Summer Riding Schedule

rs_rdbrder_v_groupride.jpgAfter dinner on Saturday night our Head Wrangler, will talk with you to get a feel for what kind of riding experience you are looking for. Usually, you will ride the same horse all week, allowing both horse and rider to become acquainted and comfortable with one another. Special requests will be taken into consideration and accommodated whenever possible.

If you would like to use a helmet and did not bring one, come to the youth building at about 9:15 on Sunday. child-vacation-6.jpgThe youth counselors will be issuing them to the children in the program, and would be happy to fit you and any older children as well. Also, if you do not have boots or shoes that are apporpriate for riding, we do have a few loaners in the stables. Stop by 10 minutes or so before the clinic, and the wranglers will direct you to what we have.

dude-ranch-riding-6.jpgOn Sunday Morning, all wranglers and riders gather at the arena for the riding clinic. After a demonstration covering horse safety, riders are mounted on their horses and taken either into the pastures or onto trails. There the wranglers can see their riding skills to be certain they are paired up with the right mount. The children have a clinic of there own with the youth counselors. In the afternoon, in addition to the regular trail ride, the option is available for lessons in the arena with the Rock Springs wranglers. dude-ranch-6.jpg

Monday morning, we head out early for our breakfast ride, and Thursday is our all day luncheon ride day. Both are complete with a ranch meal brought to you on the trail from the Rock Springs kitchen. Monday afternoon, stay around the barn for a horsemanship demonstration. On both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, Dude Ranch Gymkhana1private or group lessons are available with Colleen Wolfenson. Our wranglers will offer clinics, and we are excited to offer Colleen's Natural Horsemanship private and group lessons!

Unless a special ride is scheduled, morning rides are typically 2- 2 1/2 hours long and afternoon rides about an hour and a half long. Lessons are available in the arena as an alternative to the afternoon ride on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

family_vacation_1.jpgIn the evenings, we have a couple of special events each week. On Wednesday evening is our ever popular wranglers' drill team. This is your opportunity to see our barn staff come together for drills and show the discipline they are trained in.
