As a fun tradition and complement to our regular weekly activities, Rock Springs Guest Ranch hosts two weeks of tennis each summer. These weeks are at no additional charge and include playing tennis, learning new skills, brushing up on techniques, and having a lot of fun. For the past 30 years, tennis pro Anni Miller has conducted the ranch tennis clinics for adults and older teens of all abilities.

Dude Ranch Tennis1A typical day includes tennis instruction and drills in morning and afternoon as well as time for free play before and after the clinics. During the latter part of the week a round robin tournament is held and played in the "Ranch style" where everyone is a winner.

Anni Miller is a fabulous instructor and, most importantly, she makes tennis fun for all. She is a world-renowned tennis professional, and one of only two women awarded the status of Master Professional by the USPTR. She is currently ranked number 1 nationally for women's doubles for over 50. Although Oregon is her home and she has been the director of tennis and head pro for the city of Lake Oswego for almost 20 years, she has spoken about and taught tennis all over the world. She has contributed to the tennis world by sitting on and chairing committees for such organizations as USPTR and WTA. A 1990 International Women's Doubles titlist, she has extensive knowledge of the game. Anni has taught beginners as well as nationally ranked and world-class players. Dude Ranch Tennis2

She was also their "Professional of the Year" twice. From the USPTR, her awards include two times the "International Coach of the Year," and in 2002 Anni was presented their "Professional of the Year" award at the US Open in New York.

In addition to her many coaching obligations, Anni works on the Women's Professional World Tour. An accomplished writer, her articles have been published in Tennis Magazine, World Tennis, and The Oregonian newspaper.
