Excursions
We have a fantastic week planned for you this summer! We have arranged some additional activities each day, outside of our program, for your convenience. There are additional charges for these services or excursions, all of which are paid to the company offering the trip or service. The information sign-up sheets for each activity are located in this book. They have further information about deadlines, cost, cancellation policies, items to bring, age limits, and where to meet. Feel free to contact the office if you have any further questions. Days of the week these events are scheduled is subject to change.
SUNDAY
Family Photos: Karen Findley, a respected portrait
photographer from Central Oregon comes to the Ranch to
take family photos around the property. She returns Tuesday
evening with proofs for you to review and order. Bring your
cowboy hats!
MONDAY
Massage/Face Treatments/Aromatherapy with Willow
Durant: Soothe those sore spots with a 50 minute massage, face
treatment or aromatherapy right here on the property. Willow
will set up in the downstairs of the conference center, and 50
minute sessions are offered starting at 1:00 pm. You may either
pay Willow directly or charge this activity to your room. She
uses Decleor Aroma therapeutic face treatments, which are
all-natural. This multi-vitamin face treatment will cleanse,
moisturize, hydrate, and rebalance your skin. Decleor products
are applied utilizing a unique combination of body therapy
modalities:
Pressure point therapy: focuses pressure on pressure points on
the face stimulating energy meridians and releasing energy
blockages.
Reflex zone therapy: focuses pressure on specific reflex points
in the face that correspond to organ systems in the body.
Phytodrainage: light movements that enhance the detoxifying
action of the aromatic essences. This nourishing and
revitalizing face treatment encourages skin to absorb essential
nutrients and vitamins, leaving your skin revitalized and
rejuvenated. (Waxing, extractions and make-up application are
not offered.)
Raindrop aromatherapy: this exquisite treat for the senses uses
an assortment of essential oils applied to the spine and feet.
TUESDAY
Rafting the Big Eddy: Prepare to get wet on this
raft trip down the Big Eddy rapids on the Deschutes River
during this excursion. The Inn of the Seventh Mountain will
pick up rafters at Rock Springs in the afternoon. Actual time
on the water is about an hour. Make sure to bring your
whitewater clothes and river sandals.

Desert Cave Tour: Discover the hidden underground world of
Central Oregon’s remote desert caves with a Wanderlust
naturalist guide. These large, safe caves are ultimately
fascinating for the whole family! Leading very small groups
with headlamps, our guides will provide in-depth interpretation
on the formation of the lava tubes, the wildlife habitat inside
the caves and the many uses of the caves over time from Native
American dwellings to cold storage for early Bend residents.
Central Oregon’s caves are delicate ecosystems that few
have experienced in this way.
Volcano Tour: Available daily 9:00 am-12:30 pm & 1:00 pm-4:30 pm. Your Wanderlust Tours guide will take you deep into the belly of an ancient volcano at Newberry National Volcanic Monument. At 6,300 feet you’ll walk a safe trail atop a mountain of black glass, hiking the shores of a sparkling Paulina Lake, traveling through old growth hemlock forest and past a towering lava flow! This trip is a combination of various short, easy walks on relatively flat ground totaling just under 2 miles. Great for families!
A High Cascade Lake Canoe Journey: This exciting guided journey will take you deep into the rugged Cascades to paddle the glassy waters of a pristine mountain lake. Wanderlust Tours’ renowned guides will show you their favorite spots on these beautiful lakes where you can watch for otter, mink, osprey and eagles. Bring your swimsuit if you would like to take a refreshing dip in the water. Canoeing provides the ultimate experience in this area!
GPS Eco-Challenge: Enjoy a fun adventure into a magnificent ecosystem while finding your way through fun clues with your new GPS skills. The guides from Wanderlust Tours will lead the adventure and participants of 5 years and older are welcome.
Guided Fly Fishing: Fly and Field Outfitters in Bend is happy to offer guided fly fishing trips on the rivers and lakes in the area. Half-day and Full day adventures are available. Beginners, experts and families are welcome. Everyone will enjoy the scenic beauty of these remote fishing areas in Central Oregon. The guides at Fly and Field Outfitters will have you catching rainbow trout, brown trout or steelhead. They guarantee you’ll have a great time.
