Reunions and Grandparents
A dude ranch offers the perfect environment for families to
gather without stress. Aunt Jenny can play tennis, little
Michael can spend the afternoon by the pool with the youth
counselors, while his sister Grace can ride with her cousin
Hannah. Grandpa can take a nap. You can read a book in the
hammock, while the rest of the family is off white water
rafting. And the best part is, you did not have to coordinate
anything!
For reunions and multi-generational families,
the variety of activities and choices gives everyone
the opportunity to choose what they would like to do. All this
without having to plan who will be driving where, or listen to
the children argue about how they would like to spend their
day. Meals are taken care of, and again, the only choices to
make are choosing your own meal. No energy is spent deciding
when and where to go to dinner, or whose turn it might be to
cook.
Because of our youth program, vacationing with the
grandchildren is lovely.
The children have time to burn off energy with other
guests their age and our counselors, and grandparents can share
a vacation with them without exhausting themselves.
For generations to come together, horseback riding is a great equalizer. Because it does not require the same level of physical strength or stamina as much other outdoor recreation, it is an ideal activity to share between several age groups. Although our riding is typically grouped by riding ability, family rides are usually easy to arrange.
Our elevation is only 3500 feet, which is helpful
for those with heart issues. We also are only 20 minutes from a
state of the art hospital, with air life helicopter and regular
ambulance service minutes away. Because Bend is such a popular
place to live, the medical community is large and experienced.
The Bend area is also considered the playground of the
Northwest. As in all large families, not everyone will be
interested in the same activities. Although horseback riding is
the main focus, there are many other options available.
On property we have tennis, volleyball,
swimming, and hiking to name a few. Off property, the options
are endless. World class golf, rafting, mountain and road
biking, fly fishing and rock climbing are all within a short
drive of the ranch. Being close to a medium size town with a
focus on recreation and tourism, our area also offers a lot of
shopping without sales tax, health clubs, and live music.
