Recreation and Activities on Property
During your stay at Rock Springs, many activities may be scheduled in during free time, or for the goup as a whole. The Central Oregon area offers a wide variety of recreation, and many fun activities may be arranged on site. Because we offer exclusive use, and all activities are arranged according to your schedule, these activities must be arranged in advance, during the planning stages of your program. For either a conference with a free afternoon or an incentive group whose whole focus is recreation, these activities are fun and memorable.
Horseback Riding- During the summer, Rock Springs is a well known dude ranch offering vacations focusing on horseback riding. During our conference and retreat season, riding is also available. See a full description on the conference riding page of our website.
Teambuilding and Leadership Games- Through the Center for Peak Performance, we can offer fun experiential games that also teach participants something about themselves and others. This 2 hour or half day activity is a great icebreaker and gets participants to see each other with a new perspective. For more information, see our TeamBoosters description.
Cooking Classes- Having taught culinary school, our chef can offer a wide variety of classes to teach your participants new cooking skills. Class offerings include Basic Baking, Sophisticated Salads, and Wine & Food 101.
Sporting Clays- Let the skeet and clay fly right here at Rock Springs. Central Oregon Sporting Clays offers a simulated bird hunting experience utilizing a five stand sporting clay device, sporting clays, and skeet. They provide gun safety instruction, certified NRA instructors, and the latest in hunting shotguns. Approximate cost for 20 people is $20 per person, plus instruction time. Nature Walk- Join a naturalist Guide for a relaxing stroll on a meandering forest trail here on Rock Springs property. A local Wanderlust Tours naturalist guide will lead this walk to help you explore all the plants, animals, flowers, and trees you'll see during your stay, including the springs from which we get our name. Cost $75 for up to 30 people. Wanderlust Tours
Black Powder Rifle Competition and Tomahawk Throw - The Grizzly Mountain Long Rifle Association reenacts the American fur trade of the 1800's. Shoot a muzzleloader, start fire from flint, and throw a tomahawk while learning a little about the history of Oregon Country.
Massages, Face Treatments, and Aromatherapy- Soothe those sore spots with pampering. Willow Durant, our massage therapist, can covert a space on the ranch into a mini-spa for your participants.
